Our New Podcast: What’s In and Out for 2019. Plus, Birdman’s Foreclosure Saga

If there’s one thing we collectively love to do during the month of December, it’s to forecast what the following year has in store. Some things are more difficult to predict than others. Will housing prices ever come down? Signs point to yes. Will Cardi B and Nicki Minaj ever be friends? We may never know. But we were able to narrow down the interior design trends that are destined to be hot—and not—in 2019, with the help of our astute insiders. And on this week’s episode of “House Party,” Natalie, Rachel, and Erik dive into the trends they’re ready to embrace (black kitchens?!) and the ones they’re ready to say “Thank U, Next” to (good riddance, word wall art).

We also get the scoop on one of the most shared stories of the week: the Grinch who made an appearance in the photos of a Baltimore listing. We’ve seen dinosaurs and we’ve seen pandas used in listing photos to make a house go viral, but is this marketing tactic still amusing, or just tired? Erik has a lot of feelings on the matter.

In unique homes this week, we go inside a pine-cone-shaped home suspended 35 feet above the ground. The asking price is surprisingly low (especially for the San Francisco Bay Area), but you have to ask yourself—would you really want to live that high up?

Also, Erik breaks down the messy saga of rapper Birdman‘s Miami foreclosure. And we celebrate queen Shonda Rhimes who, in true Shonda Rhimes fashion, made an excellent deal and scored on a sweet Park Avenue penthouse on New York’s Upper East Side.

As you sign off for the holidays, get ready to tune in to another episode of “House Party,” realtor.com’s pop-culture-infused roundtable about real estate, home improvement, and design.

You can subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, Spotify, or Stitcher—and, by all means, throw us five stars if you like what you hear. The more good ratings and reviews we have, the easier it’ll be for people to find us.

Have a wacky home-related story you’re dying to share? Wish you could finally get your real estate questions answered? We’re all ears. Reach us at podcast@realtor.com, or follow @housepartypod on Twitter.
