‘House Party’ Podcast: You’ll Never Guess Who Bought the Manson Murder Houses

“House Party” is realtor.com’s official podcast about the overlapping worlds of real estate and pop culture, hosted by Natalie Way, Erik Gunther, and Rachel Stults. Click the player above to hear our takes on this week’s hot topics.

Over the years, we’ve kept an eye on the two houses in Los Angeles where the Manson Family murders occurred. The estate at 10055 Cielo Drive—where Sharon Tate and four others were killed—was demolished in the 1990s and a Mediterranean-style McMansion was built in its place. That property was purchased in 2000 by (fun fact!) the creator of “Full House,” Jeff Franklin.

The other infamous abode, the LaBianca house in Los Feliz, was recently sold to none other than “Ghost Adventures” reality TV star Zak Bagans. Is there anyone better suited to buy this notorious murder house? Probably not.

Bagans is a paranormal fanatic and collector of haunted artifacts, so it makes perfect sense why he’d want to own a piece of the Manson Family history. And that’s why we had to talk about it on this week’s episode of “House Party.”

In this episode, you’ll also hear us talk about these topics:

  • Homes with private discos
  • Hockey star Phil Kessel‘s house going viral, thanks to the sad media room
  • Yacht houses, aka luxury condos on the water
  • This week’s real estate winners and losers

So what are you waiting for? Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. And please: Throw us a five-star rating if you like what you hear. The more good ratings and reviews we have, the easier it’ll be for people to find us.

Want to chime in? Have your own crazy home-related story you’re dying to share? We’re all ears, eagerly waiting to discuss all of your burning real estate questions. Email us at podcast@realtor.com, follow us on Facebook, or tweet us @housepartypod on Twitter.
