‘House Party’ Podcast: Live From Las Vegas, It’s 2019’s Must-Have Home and Design Trends

“House Party” is realtor.com’s official podcast about the overlapping worlds of real estate and pop culture, hosted by Natalie Way, Erik Gunther, and Rachel Stults. Click the player below to hear our takes on this week’s hot topics.

Viva Las Vegas takes on a whole new meaning this week with Rachel coming to us live from the National Association of Home Builders’ Show in the heart of Sin City. This massive, three-day convention attracts thousands of companies that showcase the hottest upcoming trends in housing design. Between touring the The New American Home and chatting with the decor experts at Houzz and Sherwin-Williams (among others), let’s just say she acquired a wealth of knowledge that we discussed on this week’s episode of “House Party.”

We also chatted about a familiar topic, “Fixer Upper,” and shared our honest opinions on Joanna Gaines‘ new home decor collection with Anthropologie. Is it a departure from her wildly successful Target line? Are people really going to pay upward of $2,000 for a rug? And what one word would each of us use to describe it? Listen in to find out.

And we turned our attention from modern farmhouse to midcentury modern to explore a highly unique Frank Lloyd Wright original in Cincinnati. The home was sold in just one day for under one million dollars. While we know homes designed by Wright are hot commodities, we just weren’t impressed by the interiors of this Ohio Usonian. Maybe that cavernous master suite that looks a little too similar to a boat captain’s quarters has something to do with it.

So what are you waiting for? Get listening! Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. And, by all means, throw us a five-star rating if you like what you hear. The more good ratings and reviews we have, the easier it’ll be for people to find us.

Have a question or comment about “House Party”? Or do have your own crazy home-related story you’re dying to share? We’re all ears, eagerly waiting to discuss all your burning real estate questions. Reach us at podcast@realtor.com, or tweet us @housepartypod on Twitter.
