Amy Schumer is the proud owner of a very unique new property: a luxury, custom-built treehouse that was erected in a wooded area in her backyard—which is estimated to have cost the actress $200,000.
The 43-year-old comedian proved that you are never too old to make your “dream a reality” when she proudly showed off the structure in an Instagram post, sharing a video tour of the incredible two-story dwelling, which boasts glass doors, a deck, and a full lounge area, as well as a loft.
Schumer, who shares 5-year-old son Gene with husband Chris Fischer, revealed that she worked with renowned treehouse designer, Pete Nelson, owner of Nelson Treehouse, a company that creates all manner of dwellings for a wide range of clients.
“Treehouse porn,” the actress wrote in her Instagram caption, before thanking Nelson for “making our dream a reality.”
The treehouse designer returned the thanks in his own comment, writing: “We had a blast building this for you and your family Amy!!” and “You are THE GREATEST AMY!! We love you forever and ever.”

Per Nelson’s website, prices for the structures start in the hundreds of thousands and go all the way up to $1 million. It is estimated that Schumer paid $200,000 for her “dream” woodland dwelling.
Schumer’s treehouse features many impressive amenities, including a large staircase that leads visitors up from the ground to the raised space via an expansive railed deck. That deck has been outfitted with a table and chairs for outdoor relaxation, while inside there is a large L-shaped couch for maximum comfort.
The indoor space also has a colorful rug, beautiful wood-lined walls, and a large ladder that extends up to a spacious loft. The toys scattered about the inside of the treehouse suggest that it has been used regularly by Schumer’s son, Gene.
Nelson Treehouse has built structures all over the country. The company is based in Washington and states that it uses only the highest-quality hardware and tried-and-tested techniques that foster the longevity of both trees and treehouse.
There seems to be no limit for what can be done inside these treehouses, with the company’s website specifying that it can install insulation in the structures, as well as roofing, plumbing, kitchens, water, and electrical.
Each treehouse is site-specific and, according to Nelson Treehouse, they “specialize in designing safe, enduring, and captivating treehouses.”

“Our designers work closely with you to manifest your vision and bring years of experience in innovative and beautiful small-space design to the process,” the website says. “Our designs are highly site-specific, integrated with the unique layout of your trees and the surrounding environment.
“We collaborate with engineers and building officials to ensure that your luxury treehouse meets the highest standards of safety.”
As for the location of Schumer’s new treehouse, it’s unlikely that she was able to fit such an impressive structure in the backyard of her Brooklyn, NY, townhouse. A likelier spot would be the grounds of her home in Martha’s Vineyard, where her husband is from.
Schumer spent much of the pandemic in the upscale Massachusetts retreat, having left New York temporarily in 2020 amid lockdowns and increasing regulations.
Two years later, she put her Upper West Side penthouse on the market for $15 million, opting instead to relocate to a home in Brooklyn alongside Fischer and their son. She purchased that place in July 2022 for $12.5 million—$1.5 million over the asking price.
Her Brooklyn brownstone also boasts its own celebrity status, having been featured in the hit 1987 movie “Moonstruck.”
While the five-bedroom, four-bathroom property has been renovated since then, much of the home’s 1829 history remains. The grand-scale townhouse offers high ceilings, restored crown molding, handcarved and milled trim, and millwork.

Original details include marble fireplace mantels, steel-corseted stairs, built-ins for extra storage, exposed-wood beams, and wide-plank floors.
Modernizations include a second laundry area in the basement, along with an excavated gym and wine cellar.
The mansard roof has been restored, and the brownstone exterior is new.
And the dreamy, garden-level kitchen is the perfect place to make a big pizza pie! The cook space offers a professional wood-burning oven, Lacanche French range, Gaggenau refrigeration and freezer columns, and dishwashers.
The butler’s pantry comes with a zinc bar sink, and the antique cabinetry was sourced from a mansion in Ohio and reengineered with German soft-close hardware, the original listing noted.
Out back, the lush gardens surround a brick patio for extra privacy—however, while the home comes with outdoor space, there certainly does not appear to be anywhere near enough room to fit a treehouse.
Located in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District, the European-inspired corner brownstone is just a short walk to restaurants and a new deep-water marina.
